Provisional Government 
Prepartions for defense of Executive Building in December, 1893. 
 The Provisional Government feared that that the US Minister would use armed force in an effort to restore the Queen. 
     Soon after President McKinley was inaugurated, the question of Hawai'i's annexation was brought up again. Initially, there was not enough support to pass the resolution (a two thirds vote was needed), but annexation through joint resolution (only majority vote in each house was needed) was successful. Hawai'i was successfully annexed.
